UPJ Obstruction, Surgery, Stents: a Patient's perspective | My experience with pyeloplasty surgery due to a UPJ obstruction – what to expect from surgery, recovery, and ureteric stents - My experience with pyeloplasty surgery due to a UPJ obstruction - what to expect from surgery, recovery, and ureteric stents

  • https://upjblog.wordpress.com/about/ About Me | UPJ Obstruction, Surgery, Stents: a Patient's perspective - I am a 40-something year old woman living in the metropolitan Washington DC area. I've been married almost 20 years to my college sweetheart, have 2 dogs, and own a home. The experience I went through to repair my UPJ obstruction was confusing, scary and frustrating, especially since I never had surgery before and was…
  • https://upjblog.wordpress.com/why-did-i-write-this-blog/ Why did I write this blog? | UPJ Obstruction, Surgery, Stents: a Patient's perspective - When I learned of my diagnosis (UPJ obstruction), I scoured the web for information. Most information was from hospitals or doctors' offices but not much was available from the patient's perspective. What I read did not really prepare me for what I experienced before and after surgery, so I wanted to have a place to…
  • https://upjblog.wordpress.com/2014/12/24/conclusion/ Conclusion | UPJ Obstruction, Surgery, Stents: a Patient's perspective - I realize I waited far to long to wrap up this saga, but it ended very well. I went to Johns Hopkins, where I was treated as a smart human adult - with respect. They took me on time, the doctor read my file before I arrived, and he took the time to explain what…

  • https://upjblog.wordpress.com/2014/04/10/final-verdict/ Final Verdict | UPJ Obstruction, Surgery, Stents: a Patient's perspective - Yesterday my kidney pain was reduced, and this morning I felt a bit better too. So I was hopeful that the stent might have actually done something useful. I went to see the doctor today. My appointment was 11:15. It was 12:30 before I saw the doctor and about 1:30 before I left. The doctor…
  • https://upjblog.wordpress.com/2014/04/06/cytoscopy-retrograde-pyelogram-and-the-return-of-the-stent/ Cytoscopy, Retrograde Pyelogram, and the Return of the Stent | UPJ Obstruction, Surgery, Stents: a Patient's perspective - On the day of my final "fact-finding" procedure, I was feeling bad kidney pain. Before the procedure I finally was able to see the doctor. I asked him to confirm what the nurse told me, "If everything looks good, I assume no stent right?". He said, "No, I'm going to put the stent back in…
  • https://upjblog.wordpress.com/2014/04/02/more-infections-no-answers/ More infections, no answers | UPJ Obstruction, Surgery, Stents: a Patient's perspective - After taking a week of Ceftin antibiotic, I started feeling a little bit better - still some kidney pain but not terrible. Then it came back. I went this time to my GP because they are more pleasant and responsive. I do have another infection; they gave me Cipro until the culture comes back in…
  • https://upjblog.wordpress.com/2014/03/19/next-steps/ Next Steps | UPJ Obstruction, Surgery, Stents: a Patient's perspective - I got a call from the urologist's office. I have another infection. A different bacteria this time - that's 2 infections in 3 weeks. They claim it's my "fault" and that it has nothing to do with my condition. I can't believe this is right, and it's not fair. After a couple of sleepless nights,…
  • https://upjblog.wordpress.com/2014/03/19/second-opinion/ Second Opinion | UPJ Obstruction, Surgery, Stents: a Patient's perspective - I went to another urologist for a second opinion. I brought CDs of my scans, as well as the printout of the radiologist analysis. This surgeon told me that a T1/2 of 18 is NOT normal (he indicated it should be <10), and even asked if I had my surgery yet. He said if he…

I am currently a first year medical student and this book is great. It really helps you to see what details are high yield versus what your professors emphasize (trust me, it is not always the same). It also contains multiple different tips and ways to remember key information. Highly recommend for boards prep and for every day study!

I bought this for my fiberglass tub and shower. The textured bottom is so hard to clean! Put the stuff on and let it sit. Scrubbed it. Still not perfect. Put more stuff on then used a mr clean magic eraser and holy cow. Perfectly clean. And I've tried everything under the sun

  • Ashmarie - Not Greasy, Hair Extremely Soft

This product left my hair incredibly soft and not greasy! The product is thick, so at first I was really worried that it was going to leave my hair a greasy mess. As someone with extremely thin, blonde hair, this is the first hair mask I've ever found that doesn't leave my hair looking like I've been in a vat of oil. The product can packaged very well, I really like the eight individual packets. The product itself has a nice herbal smell to it. Each individual packet, comes with a packet of the hair mask, and a shower cap. My hair is about 21 inches long, but I only had to use about half of one of the product packages to completely coat my hair, I think you could easily get to or three masks out of each product package, if you had your own shower caps to use. So far, I've only used the product once, unlike other mask products, it didn't take hair with it when I washed it out. I have extremely sensitive skin, I was a little worried about this product after I read a different review stating someone said it burnt, I definitely didn't have any burning sensation, or other negative reaction for that matter, and I kept it on for about 10 minutes. The packaging is super cute, not at all like a traditional hair loss product (which as a younger woman is kinda embarrassing to have to use, it just looks like a normal hair car product). The packaging also looks really convenient for travel purposes. After using this product I'm going to try their shampoo, because I really like how this one made my hair feel. Disclaimer- I received this product at a discounted rate for my honest and unbiased review.

  • Priscila - Like no other!

like no other! the best cream in the market. I use it only when there are minor signs of redness coming. A little goes a long way and just a tiny bit can heal my baby's skin in a night. I can't live without this product now!

  • Shannon Mitchell - the quaility is good

it was perfectly comfortable and can be worn in either ear for long periods. Set up was really easy . It paired with my smartphone (iPhone 5c) immediately and reconnects effortlessly every time. The range away from the phone is about 11 metres or so. Sound quality is just fine for speech . It has been used in conjunction with a GPS navigation smartphone app and instructions when driving are clear without being excesively loud. The main use is for phone calls and, likewise, the quaility is good. It seems reasonably immune from noise pickup and other parties have had no difficulty understanding the conversation even when used in a noisey vehicle. Battery life is an impresive 6 hours talk time (much longer when idle) and recharge time is short.

  • Premkumar - Good Reliever for your Muscle Pain

I have to say I was skeptical about this Cellulite Cream.Aside from hard workouts I applied it on the entirety of my thighs and bottom cheeks, not too thin and it spread pretty well. After time was up I was pretty impressed! My skin was not only very soft but looked significantly better after this one use! I also noticed there was no greasy, or oily residue or anything left over at all on my skin so I can just put my pants back on afterwards. I will be very excited to see what would come of it after using this product for an extended period of time. I will also use this product on other parts of my body (even if it's not really needed) just because this feels really great on your skin/muscles! I would absolutely recommend this product if you have areas with cellulite, dry skin, or achy muscles that need some soothing.

  • Kindle Customer - Love these headphones.

I love these headphones! They are comfortable and have excellent sound. Nice to get rid of the tether to the device. Can also be used as phone bluetooth. Easy to pair with devices. Came in a nice kit that thought of everything, and then some. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to design the circuitry so they can be left charging without overcharging. I like to leave my things always charged and ready to go.
