Had our own canvas shop for 27 years and our equipment was industrial. Cheapest machine was $3500 and some went up to $15,000. Left it all behind when we sold it and it wasn't long before I needed a machine to make a leather bag for a tool. My wife's dress making machine wasn't up to the task and after multiple attempted projects and much cursing, we finally bit the bullet and looked for a more industrial machine that could be operated by a mere mortal. While not in the league of the Adlers we left behind, this machine will hold its own if you allow it will need some help from time to time. Adjustments are easy and threading is almost too easy. It claims to be a high speed unit and generally control would be a fear. Fear not, one can take one stitch at a time if you stitch in your stocking feet for a good sense of feel. Hand assisted fly wheel at thicker than normal points works well and is not against the rules with professional stitchers. At my age simpler is better so fewer stitch choices helped and one doesn't need the instruction manual every few minutes.
I definitely had a subsurface leak in my 13,000 gallon in-ground gunite pool for maybe a year. I would lose approximately 1-1/2 - 2 inches of water/day, and living in California where we are in a drought, that costs money and releasing a valuable resource right down the drain. Iwas having to add about 20 gallons of water to the pool daily $$$.I was told that the leak was in the return lines and when the pump was on, that's when I would just be pumping water down the drain. And it wasn't only water. I have a salt system and where I used to put 2 x 40 pound bags of salt in during the summer, I was now having to put i about 12 bags, so I was discharging chemicals down the drain as well and the chemicals were never in balance, and I would start getting algae growth in a matter of days because I couldn't keep enough chemicals in the water.
It is hard to tell sometimes which pieces are lit up. Not sure if this is due to weak ground wire connections or what. I have ended up opening up outlet plates to confirm grounding. In general, though, this was very useful to me when touring houses to buy to make sure the 50+ year old houses had properly grounded 3-prong outlets.
I have had a subscription fir this magazine for years. I enjoy this mag for the lighter version of recipes and the beautiful pictures inside. It also also does not seem to have tons of ads inside. The app is a very useful tool. I love the upgrade that in automatically goes to my newsstand on my Kindle. So I have the best of both, the paper and electronic version.
This helmet is outstanding in every way for me. It is light, comfortable, has masses of venting for the hot weather in Texas and looks great. I do a lot of long, fast rides and don't want weight or heat from my helmet to be an issue. The straps are light and you don't feel them when you are wearing it and the Giro ratchet system of tightening is perfect and can be positioned to fit.
