I spent countless hours researching car seats in the hope of finding something reasonably lightweight that would work well for travel. My requirements were that it had to be: (1) easy to install, and (2) lightweight. This seat is by far not the lightest seat out there, but it's lighter than a lot of them and more cushy and solid than the cheaper budget seats so I was willing to haul around a few extra pounds. However, it failed miserably in the first requirement of easy installation — at least as far as rear-facing using a seatbelt. It might be a breeze if you're forward-facing, or facing either way using LATCH connectors, but my SUV is a 2000 model and doesn't have LATCH. And given how long my daughter would be using the seat she'd eventually hit the weight limit for LATCH, thus requiring seatbelt installation eventually.
